(Link to the old About me from back in the day …2013, i think.)
What about? After creating this blog back in 2010 and restarting it 11 years after what i thought was its retirement in 2015 –pleased then that The Big One campaign was making headway and, therefore, rendering my early blog unnecessary, even redundant, but then there began a gnawing realization and an uneasiness that burst only late last year which proved that i was wrong.
I figured that while the technical people did a splendid job, the information was put out on the world wide web for all the world to see, except that it lacked a bit of a marketing push to get the vital info to the most number of people who are most directly affected.
The permanence of information is fleeting if it depends solely on the state of being seen in a current time frame. Once the fault traces get offline due to scheduled site maintenance or just bluntly pulled out with no reason, then it’s gone. No record that it was ever there!
Or find it moved by some 8 to 10 meters away from your neighbors house to yours and quietly this can happen by some unintended technical glitch about basemaps, and people can realize suddenly they could be off the mark a decade ago without knowing amid the blur of all the commotions of The Big One.
Or imagine a house vacated by its bothered homeowner will have the same forsaken dwelling occupied by clueless individuals years later when the hubbub dies down –even generations after generations later, considering The Big Once is said to recur every four hundred years! (Later i got to get a worthy institution to sponsor my annual WordPress/Jetpack account considering one day i will step off the ledge to what awaits beyond the senior life.
My humble contribution has been to capture snapshots of the entire valley fault system, to identify areas with critical close-ups, and to create virtual “hard copies” thereof that anyone for posterity can have a record of. For a chance through emails and social media that these evidences reach the clueless individuals from affected subdivisions, barangays, brgy. zones, sitios, schools, work places, churches, malls and other venues of public gatherings.
My life’s purpose and mission is at a crossroad with every milestone and missed chances and mishaps that characterize my journey. It is amazing when memory, health, and resolve can be on a decline, but every thing that happened and will happen is coming together into sharp focus with absolute clarity to what they have always meant, and these past events now intertwine to form the answers to questions long asked in prayers.
God has been good, and now i understand.
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” -Romans 8:28
